please another question...before you modified the canon, was it difficult to take IR shots??? I mean, is it worth it to modify a camera just for IR??? I have a 40D and when i try IR, it doesnt come out the way i want it :-(

The only factor that can potentially benefit you is a close-to-normal shutter response. Modifying the camera does not seem too hard at all no; but the main consideration is it be done in a dust-free environment. With this considered, I'd recommend having someone else do it.
